The effect of population growth on economic growth

Introduction: Population and its characteristics play an important role in planning and policy making and in defining economic and social goals. The purpose of this article is to examine the impact of population growth on the economic growth of meta-analysis. Method: The present study aimed to quantitatively combine the results of researches on the impact of population growth on economic growth using a meta-analysis method with the help of comprehensive meta- analysis software (CMA2, STATA15) and searching different databases among 143 articles. And 48 theses and 32 articles were selected and finally 18 studies were selected and evaluated according to meta-analysis criteria. Results: The results showed that population growth had a negative effect on economic growth. Also, the age structure of the population, type (corresponded author). of model used, type of data and skill combination influenced the economic growth of the country. Accordingly, training the workforce commensurate with the growth rate of the active population through vocational training and higher education is an appropriate policy for the age of entry into the labor market.
